The process
“I want to learn my First Dance in person.
How does it work and where do we start?”
Fill in the enquiry form to tell me a few details like your wedding date, your venue and song if you decided on one (happy to help you to choose the song).
It usually takes 4-6 classes to learn the choreography and feel confident with it for a 2-2:30min song. At one class a week, allow around 6+ weeks if you can. Less time? No stress, we'll work with what you've got. We'll pick the studio most convenient for you, book your first lesson, and get started from there.
You step onto the floor knowing exactly what to do, and simply enjoy the moment together.

Follow the choreography videos anytime, anywhere. Practise together whenever it suits you, and revisit any step as many times as you need.

Dasha created our choreography from scratch after we sent her the song we wanted to dance to. It took us 5 sessions to learn the moves and Dasha made it simple but sophisticated enough to put on a show on our celebration night. Her lessons were worth every dollar and every minute spent.
We had absolutely no dance experience, not even the basics, no musicality, nothing! We honestly considered learning our first dance from YouTube… and we're so glad we didn't. Dasha choreographed our routine in a way that truly reflected us as a couple.
With no dance experience, we felt at ease as she broke everything into simple steps and was always encouraging and patient. Her warm and fun personality made every lesson something to look forward to. We couldn't have asked for a better tutor!

The story
Kia ora, I'm Dasha Speedy, founder of Dance by Dasha, specialising in wedding dance choreography.
I've danced for as long as I can remember, Ballroom and Latin professionally, then Argentine tango and street & club styles. It means we can shape your first dance around your vision, and if you already dance something that means a lot to you and your family, like a cultural dance, we can build your routine around it.
My HR background helps me adjust lessons to your pace and comfort. Classes are relaxed and private. No experience needed. Couples often tell me learning their dance was the most fun part of their wedding prep. Would you like to give it a go?
